The fast track project execution strategy adopted by the leadership team has become the hallmark of HOEC’s success. To put it in one line - There is no looking back

Sachin heads the Contracts & Procurement Team, as well as the Admin Department. His systematic approach, forthcoming nature and strong attention to detail make him an effective leader.

We caught up with Mr. Sachin Bayond for a chat. Below, is the excerpt of the interview with him.

How long have you been with HOEC?

I joined HOEC on 26th October, 2015, and have been with the company for 3.5 years.

What makes HOEC a special place to work for you?

HOEC is a special place to work because of the effort the management puts into empowering all those that work here. New initiatives are always encouraged, and their feasibility is discussed with an open mind. Furthermore, the management’s vision to steer the company towards consistent growth is fully backed by their efforts to achieve the same. Lastly, the fast track project execution strategy adopted by the leadership team has immensely helped the company’s upward trajectory, and has become the hallmark of HOEC’s success. To put it in one line, “There is no looking back.”

Which projects have been the most meaningful to you? Why?

I have been a part of three meaningful projects viz. Assam, PY-1 and the ongoing B-80. Knowing that we have the ability to overcome the constant challenges posed by these projects and achieve success, gives me the strength and confidence to play my part in helping the company scale greater heights.

If you weren’t in this profession what would you be?

I think I would have definitely been connected to the Oil & Gas industry in one way or another.

Since you began your career, what’s changed the most about the Oil & Gas industry?

The major changes have been technological advancements, the shift from a Discrete Contracting Model to an Integrated Contracting Model, and the shift in the DGH model of award from a Production Sharing Contract to a Revenue Sharing Contract.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Any solution can be worked out from basic logical understanding.
One should perceive challenges well in advance, and be ready with a mitigation plan.
